How it works:
The Villa has four different apartments (or five - if needed) which have private baths and kitchens (one larger unit shares a kitchen) and private entrances. We hope to balance privacy and self directed explorations with bigger communal events and to gather like-minded guests together for trips to attractions and meals in the historic center. We average the costs of all the different apartments and reserve them for the entire month to get the lowest rates and to ease the logistics for the hosts. This helps us have a standard rate for artists and simplifies things overall. Families with children should be prepared to pay a small additional fee for a cot or additional bedding if needed. There is wireless internet available in all of the apartments and the salon.
Artists will choose either 2 week or 4 week stays (we will put two, two week stays back to back in one apartment for efficiency). Housing costs are extremely affordable thanks to the generosity of our hosts to make it possible for working artists to stay at Il Palmerino for as long as possible. Airfare and food are not included ( But we have kitchens!). The airfare is the responsibility of each artist. The fee covers housing, the exhibition and party, one multi-course group dinner with our hosts, and membership in the cultural association which coordinates events at the Villa.

This is the upper garden / cookout area. Just beyond the willow is a vegetable garden and to the right is a composting station. The driveway / parking for the Villa Il Palmerino is also via an entrance at the "top"of the yard or "campo" and leads to a gravel spot just off to the right.

Evenings

The Salon (more pictures here) becomes the Exhibition space for the "Mostra" or show - the whole lower courtyard and garden hosts the "festa" or party and people eat and drink everywhere

The mission of the Associazione Culturale Il Palmerino is to promote and continue the exchange of ideas and events of an interdisciplinary nature, which have played a vital role in the past tradition and history of Il Palmerino. In a setting which houses works of the past and contemporary creative events, l'Associazione encourages artists from national and international backgrounds to meet and share cultural projects and initiatives, including artist seminars and individual study and research in the fields of Art, Literature and Science.
